Skype dates are in our past because I get you everyday. We have a home, a front door that I get to open and on the other side awaits you. I wake up next to you and kiss you goodnight. It was just that the time was wrong. I sat across from Char and listened as she chatted about her affections for Paul, recounting God’s faithfulness to them along the the way of their relationship. We all chimed in remembering when, sharing stories when we all first met, what our lives were like then and how they are now. We marveled at the faithfulness of God. In all things. In spite of proximity the Lord saw fit to pair these two together at the most unique time.

When I look into your eyes and see our families who have gathered around us, gratitude swells within. In you, I not only see today, I see the future. I see family dinners after church, thanksgiving, and christmas morning. I see every room in our house filling with laughter and babies on the way. I am humbled, filled with pleasure and so glad it’s you.

I met some of the most special people at your wedding and it makes me want to move back to NC, hang out in the forest, drink tea on a front porch and chat. The sunlight began to dawn and a new day was starting to wake. She breathes deeply as the morning preparations begin. Confidence sinks in as she sits, legs crossed, knowing that in a few hours, he was going to be her husband. Young love, eager, ambitious and forgiving. They recite their vow & promise, till death do us part and their forever began to wake.

She said for the first time. “My husband” & he said “My wife”.
