lindsey b. - these photos are so amazing- i hear so many people say they “don’t have room” in their quarter of a million dollar houses for more than one or two kids. surely they have more room & more love compared to dirt floors & starving bellies. those little cheeks are just as kissable as their biological childrens’. God is bending my selfish heart toward adoption more & more. i hope He will be merciful towards our thinking that changing one tiny life isn’t enough to “make a difference.”

I will take him and at least seventeen others please… Jason says he’ll build the bunkbeds to house them! :)

I hope I get to hang out with you more. You are such a beautiful person. Your passion for the Lord is awesome. I love seeing you work by helping others. You are a blessing to many love.

8 days a week. Sephora

While growing up I watched my mom stuff her makeup bag into her purse that was all ready overflowing with receipts and the day’s affairs.  Her bag was bottomless in the sense that you could fit everything in it and at the same time find nothing. I swore I would never be like that but…

Kelly Cissell - Hello Lady Godiva! So indulgent. Kristen, you’re brilliant and just so generous.

Jennifer Chappell Kelly - I love Godiva! Unfortunately the stopped making my favorite :-( Luckily there are still PLENTY of yummy chocolates though!

Jen Sharits - What’s not to love about chocolate…delicious!

Angey Price - this is sad… don’t think I’ve ever had a Godiva truffle…but I always think of you and Casey and the the truffle shop downtown Ft. Worth anytime I think of a truffle :)

Leah Phillips Finn - Sigh. Chocolate is wonderful.

Kristin Kelley Mooneyham Nix - Oh Godiva… how I love thee. Is there a recovery program for people who can name each piece in a one pound box and can tell you what is in the center? It has been the one constant ridiculous indulgence throughout life… my daddy did it, my husband does it, my husband has my little boy do it… these men by this girl a golden box of deliciousness at least once a year…and I hoard it. (Phoebe and I hid in the floor of my closet not too long ago and polished off my Christmas box so we wouldn’t have to share with any other toddlers in the house.)

Heidi Mayham Deschryver - Yes, I love chocolates too…but I especially love your hair in that picture with your sisters! :)

Julie Johnson - milk, dark, white, truffle….i’m so in!

Rebecca Schlieman - If loving chocolate is wrong, I don’t want to be right!

Joy Price - love this! yum!

Sandy Herrera - who doesn’t love chocolate? I’ll take chocolate any day!

Brandy - White chocolate peppermint? Amazing!!

Leah Elizabeth Wall - I’m pretty sure I love all the things you love…

Minaz Rayani - Cha cha cha chocolate?

Veronique - White chocolate peppermint is the bomb diggity, girl! You are right about that.

Sam Jones - Oh yummmmmm.

Michaella Johnson - Any tradition that involves chocolate is a great one!

@shellyeve - dark chocolate seems to be a new weakness of mine. i’m ok with that.

Samantha Maxwell - Yummers!

Kristie Fairchild Stockton - Godiva = *swoon* :)

Kim Vick - Chocolatatte..enough said!

Corrinna - fun traditions!! :-P life is more exciting that way, I think :) and I totally agree that you picked the right truffle…I am not a HUGE chocolate fan, but give me that one any day!! :) much lo blank e <3 :)

Heather - yummy chocolate! You know I love it. That’s why I can’t lose any weight! Can’t wait till you are back in Raleigh and we can visit the Cupcake Shoppe together :)

Melissa Pearce - What a lovely tradition to have! You are so right about peppermint and chocolate being a good marriage. I love them together. My husband would disagree.

Ashley Taylor - My tummy is growling now! So delicious!

Brittany Hunter - Family traditions are so sweet; I especailly enjoys the smell that belong with family traditions! My twin younger sisters and I have a tradition that can take place at any time. When a box of chocolate is brought, we each take small bites out of all of them; this way it’s more fun and we’ve each got to try them all. When I was 20, for Christmas all i could afford to get them was a box of Godiva chocolate; we sat, under their glow in the dark stars and ate away. Now they want VANS…their taste is much different but when ever theres a box of chocolate, we eat it the same.

Darla Lyons Wilkinson - Yum, yum, yum!

Nicole Wilson - YUM!
Your memories of childhood make me laugh.
I think about your creativity in cooking, too – remember when we wanted to make dinner in Armenia and didn’t have very much to go from? You guys dipped orange slices in a chocolate sauce you made. Haha… we were desperate!
Godiva sound so much better! :)

Aimee Pettigrew - Oh how I miss u! I love my sisters!

8 days a week. Anthropologie

I have walked into a store and found my dwelling place. There are few places that upon entering that make me want to extend my arms and twirl around and around from sheer happiness, and Anthro is one of them. If I could just hide out in the dressing room upon store closing and sleep…

See The Full Story »

Katie Wilson - you’re nice. that’s all :)

Kaycee - Kristen, I have loved reading your posts and I love to see your heart for the gospel. Thankful for you and all that you are up to :) !

cait - you’re right, anthro feels so fresh that you just want to spin around in wonder of it all. love it.

Julia A. VanderPol - I have never bought anything there.. but oh how I have drooled over many many things. I know you technically can’t buy happiness… but you can get kinda close… :)

April russell - I was just telling my mom how awesome this place is! She’s never set foot in one and I feel for her.

Jenna Minner - Never can afford anything here but it’s always fun looking!

Kim Trammell Rutland - I’ve never bought anything from here, but I drool everytime I go in there. I could totally see you wearing all of their clothes.

Kristen - Their jewelry would be SO fun to get – such a variety to choose from. I have a soft spot for accessories. :)

Betsy Eriksen Treece - You know, I never let myself go in there because I’m afraid I’ll just forget myself and buy everything in sight before I realize I’m poor and have a small house. :)

Kelly Cissell - I fall in love with everything every time I walk into Anthropologie. Also, I accidentally misspelled your name on the Godiva post. So sorry! Don’t count it against me when you’re picking your winners ;)

lindsey b. - confession: i can’t afford much at anthropologie, but i do visit whenever possible to shamelessly pilfer their stunning & yet simple (& often repurposed/recycled!) decor inspiration. definitely a place to recharge the creativity!

Hannah Huff - I have always said, if there is only one store I could shop at for the rest of my life, it would be Anthropologie! I’m so in love with this store!! :)

Jennifer Chappell Kelly - LOVE so so many things here!

Jen Sharits - Sounds like a fun store!

Leah Phillips Finn - I’ve never bought ANYTHING at Anthropologie, but I have wanted to!

Kristin Kelley Mooneyham Nix - I have walked in the door once… and when I realized I was holding about 27 door knobs and drawer handles in my arm, I knew I needed to leave quickly.

Stephanie Hatcher - Is it just me or does their kitchen stuff just make you want to buy a cottage somewhere and sip hot tea and wear white lace slips?!

I have a few kitchen towels from there that i wont even use to dry my hands they are that pretty.

Bonnie Horton - I’ve been dreaming about a new set of Anthro dishes!

Heidi Mayham Deschryver - Oooooo sounds wonderful! There is a little “Parisian” store in downtown Savannah that makes me feel like how you describe! I end up with a tshirt for one daughter, some candies for a son, and some bath items for another daughter. That alone cleans me out…but they know to savor those items! ;)

Becca R - <3 anthro! cutest aprons ever!

Joy Price - oh I want to win!

leah wall - yep. love anthropologie! not just their products – but their store is so inspiring and beautiful!

Laura Jones - Um, what’s not to love about this store? other than it will suck your wallet dry.

Laura Jones - Um, what’s not to love about this store?

Ashley Taylor - Anthropologie is one of my favorite places! Totally inspiring.

Arden Prucha - Lovin the site, just airy and fun!

Aimee Pettigrew - Thats the skirt we bouht together when u were here!

Monica Gerber - Love the store…Love your photos!!!

Carole - Hooray!! Love this store. Your photography is great!!!!

April Ashley-Phipps - I am so out of touch. What kind of store is Anthropologie and where is it? Not that I want to inflict any self-control issues on myself, but if it’s that good, I gotta see it.

Stephanie Allen Michael Murdock - good to know that great minds think alike…oh anthropologie, how do I love thee? let me count the ways!

Patricia Thomas Webb - I am going to check this out on line. Might fine some neat stuff on there.

Rebecca A Sharpe - AHH! LOOOOVE Anthro!:) I am one of the daughters mentioned. Cindee Kissinger

Heather - Do you remember when you asked me if I had heard of anthropology and I said, “yeah – the study of man” – ha ha! I’ve actually been in the store now :)

@shellyeve - Hello love. Your work gets more and more beautiful every day! I LOVE your new site and I LOVE anthro. May be a lil obsessed but my friend’s husband passed by one and told me that store reminded him of me. BEST COMPLIMENT EVER! (makes me want trade in my yoga pants for skirts (sometimes… :) )

Cindee Kissinger - My girls love this store, I haven’t had pleasure of actually owning anything from there but I’m sure I could enjoy this little burden. Ha! I am so excited to get to serve this summer to veterans and tell them of the love freely given for them. they gave themselves for my freedom and Jesus gave himself for their freedom. how awesome.

Blair - Absolutely love Anthro! I place where I could buy just about anything! Miss you friend and we would love to see you soon!

Samantha - Love your new website design! And, I totally drool over Anthro! :)

Kristie Fairchild Stockton - <3 their style. simple, fun, relaxing! :)

Angey Price - Cookie, You and Casey have made me an Anthropologie FAN! I imagine a day when the three of us go there together… we may never leave… but we could at least help each other put things back! :)

Kimberly Casanova - Ohhhh, I would love this. You’re so right…I want all of the decorative kitchen stuff.

HudsonMolly Babler - Love your photography! Also love Anthro!

Melissa Mestas Pearce - Kristin! I have meant to comment a number of times over the past couple days, but someting as come up every time and now its 3 days later! So hard to believe its been a year since I started reading your beautiful blog!

Veronique - i don’t know much about anthropologie, but the little i have seen of their stuff is pretty awesome!

Kim Vick - Same way I feel when I go into Pottery Barn, now I’m dying to go in this store because I know if you love it I certainly will!

Corrinna - my sis in law is an anthropology junkie and she has gotten me hooked! even got to wear a brides maid dress that she picked from there! :-D yay for pretty, fun things! :)

Mindi - I, too, am an anthromaniac. Zen. I just happened upon the two floor store in San Fran on Tuesday. They ASKED me to visit their sales section. Twist my arm! Love your style!

laura lau - oh I love it! I bought a dress there (on sale of course haha) and its the one thing in my closet that when I’m having a bad day or feeling frumpy, I put it on (no matter the weather or occasion) and it’s a brighter day from then on.

Jessica Boyter - oooh la la! I “accidentally” bought a $20 candle here one time. Indeed it is a mesmerizing store…all bets are off when you walk past that threshold.

Allan - I want to go with you just to see you twirl.

julie johnson - i own nothing from anthropologie…i’m an anthropologie newbie. maybe i can gain in cool points:)

Kasey - Kristin you have wonderful taste. Anthro is wonderful. Thanks for doing this give away.

Robin D Long - I actually got a catalog from them this year since two of your Christmas presents came from there. I am going to miss what you write tomorrow, Sat, and Sunday, and that makes me sad. Looking forward to Monday to read it all. I love you..

Charity - Yay for Anthro! LOVE that store. It’s my favorite Durham spot.

Jenny - Oh Anthro….had to comment ever so swiftly for this one! The headquarters is in philly and the store there is three floors of pure bliss! Kristin rocks and so does her style! Thanks for this awesome giveaway!

Brittany Hunter - Oh Anthro, how I like you so! Ryne said I couldn’t go in there anymore but a few weeks ago, Laura & I adventured in there! Awee! Ohhh! Beautiful!-is all that came out of our mouths! It’s a wonderful escape

Casey Chappell - The pic is SOOOO Cool!!! Anthro is super beautiful and eclectic … just like YOU!!!!

Rebecca Schlieman - Ohh Anthropologie! How is it that we like all the same things? I can’t even walk in there… I always want to spend entirely too much money.

Nicole Wilson - YOU are who I think of when I think of creativity and things that are aesthetically pleasing! I think I’d be afraid to enjoy a store like this one if it weren’t for your influences in my life! :)

8 days a week. Music.

My love for music began with a boy (of course). Words accompanied by a melodic rhythm, an assortment of strings, a tight snare, a dark room with a stream of light highlighting a dude, wearing converse and singing to the crowd, (but secretly I knew he was singing to me ..at least that is what…

Linda Anderson Skorackyj - Annette, you have a beautiful voice. I always enjoyed hearing you sing at IMB.

Joy - LOVE this. Thanks so much!!

Kaycee - Something that is not, “The Wheels on the Bus,” or “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes” sound amazing.

Kenya Pace - Music is a huge part of my family, it feeds the soul. My daughter just recently told us that she did not want toys for her birthday she would rather have an amp & an electric ukulele.

Annette Hickman Miller - I heart music. all kinds of music. I think I came out of my birth mother’s womb singing. my mommy said I was singing in the crib too. I was a vocal major in college. music is therapy for all kinds of things. music is universal. music rocks! I heart music. and I like hearing of new tunes. just listening to the songs on each of these 8 days of the week, I’ve heard a few new ones. thanks for sharing your love of music.

Kindra - agreed that the civil wars are sweet… and here’s to hoping one day I play guitar well enough to play before others…

cait - love that you put such a broad thing on here— music is such a huge part of how we view our lives- i love the idea that you are giving away more of it! We could all use a little more music in our lives!

Ashley Chambers - I got an IPOD for Christmas and have yet to download anything yet, so this would be great! :)

Julia A. Vander Pol - Ahhh music… something that speaks pretty directly to my heart. Yes… good choice on a favorite!

Jenna Minner - Alwaaaays buying new iTunes songs. Love it!

Kim Trammell Rutland - Regardless of who wins this one, I think you should create a playlist of some of your favorites so we can all download them. I love listening to the music on your page. We have Pandora playing in our house round the clock and need some new stuff!

Betsy Eriksen Treece - After years of not listening to very much music, I’m coming back to it!

Kelly Cissell - Can you imagine life without music? It would be so weird! Question, is this where comments are supposed to be posted – I’ve seen there there are two places where people are leaving comments, so I’m a little confused :S

Jennifer Chappell Kelly - I adore music:-) I would love anything other than Veggie Tales for the 800th time! ;-)

Leah Finn - My hubs and I keep a running list of “music we will buy next time we have an ITunes gift card”–this would be perfect!

Samantha Maxwell - I love Poison and Wine! I listen to it over and over and over!

Kristin Kelley Mooneyham Nix - Yes… music. And I am not buying a Sesame Street album with it either.

Kate - You remember me shopping for clothes? I love, love, love Anthropologie! Your site looks awesome! I love the new look, Kristin!

Erynn Newman - Ack! This 8 days thing is such a cool idea. Music and coffee are two of MY favorite things too!! However I pretty much always freak out when I get a gift card for music or books. I mean, the enormity of the decision is HEAVY. There are just so many choices, and I know that as soon as I pick 10 songs out of all songs EVER, I’ll realize I’ve forgotten the one I REALLY needed, or I’ll discover a new artist. See, I’m feeling stressed out just thinking about it. Hey, you know what might help? A big fat latte. Better go comment on that one too. ;)

Melissa Pearce - I LOVE Poison & Wine!! I have been editing to that song for almost 2 years now, myself! You always have good music playing or posting good songs on your status! I love hearing where this passion began!

Sam Jones - Seriously!? You are killing me with these giveaways. How cool are you!? Marketing genius!

Blair - My love for music also began with a boy… and still is because of a boy! Thankful that boy led me to meet you!

Patricia Thomas Webb - I told you that your mom and I spent a lot of time together-listening mostly to Motown in our junior and senior years. Four tops, Supremes, etc. Seems like a lifetime ago and then seems like just yesterday.

Brittany Hester - Phil Collins & The Beach Boys were my first cd’s and they were given to me by my dad; I will forever be reminded of him when I listen to those melodies! Music speaks beauty to our souls on a whole another level; discovering music is a fascinating way to spend time!

Aimee Pettigrew - I need Love. LL cool J. chhhh chhhh chhh.

Marla Decubellis - You are so creative chica! I love your stuff!!

Heather - Yes, my friend, you DO love music. I remember you listening to it in the office and tapping your toes to it :) . I know you always got a laugh out of my dance movies!

Angey Price - You AND your music are sooooo cool! There are many ways I want to be like you, and having your cool playlists is just one of them! :) You are a rock star!

Katie Wilson - Remember that time we went to Congo? Miss you!

Rebecca Schlieman - I love new music! You always have the best music on your blog!

Nicole Wilson - You make me smile so much, girl.
You are ALWAYS who I talk to about music – songs to add to your “get ready for a night on the town to this” or “run your heart out to this”, and even the fun memory here and there… “remember when we heard this and this happened…” ha. Love it so much!
Thank you for loving music!

Toni Reitter - I love this new blog scheme and everything! wow…

Casey Nichols Chappell - you’ve added many elements to my life and an appreciation for local (often about to be discovered) musicians is definitely one of them. :) Great post! :)

Michaella Johnson - I have to admit it – sometimes I love quiet more than music, but there’s nothing like a song to bring back all kinds of memories and feelings.

Kim Vick - Music is love in search of a word.

Laura Jones - Like you, I love what musicians have taught me. They bring perspective I don’t always see to different things.

Sandy Herrera - like I said…enjoying your playlist in the background :)

Dawn Isbell - My love for music began in the womb. My mom and dad love music and can be found often dancing at the local dive, to this day :-) I hope to pass my love for music to my girls.

Heidi Mayham Deschryver - Wait…WHAT? $25…all for Starbucks? Is that possible? Could one use it all in one week if they so desired? Oooo or one could SHARE! One could buy all the yummy hot cocoas possible and share them downtown with someone cold! I am already dreaming…

Julie Johnson - I have 3 kids…one on the way… please…caffeinate me before it’s too late! :)

Samantha - Aw, I missed the first couple days. But, I think of you all the time when I drink Starbucks and wish that one day I could drink coffee so black like your Americano’s (with room!).
