Love the pictures…brings back wonderful, loving memories of my time in Uganda. Would go back in a second…I especially loved the little boy in a white t-shirt, so small and sweet. Could have picked him up and kissed him Ezra has grown a lot since these pictures.

I have always found a certain beauty, and I think it lies in the emotions and humanity involved. Your pictures captured not only these moments but they also transmit the emotions and evoke awareness. these photos are so amazing- i hear so many people say they “don’t have room” in their quarter of a million dollar houses for more than one or two kids. surely they have more room & more love compared to dirt floors & starving bellies. those little cheeks are just as kissable as their biological childrens’. God is bending my selfish heart toward adoption more & more. i hope He will be merciful towards our thinking that changing one tiny life isn’t enough to “make a difference.”

I needed some curtains to keep out the bright 5am sun the summer I was a missionary in NYC. UO had some on sale and I wish I could remember the deal I got because it was a STEAL! I also didn’t realize that there were 2 panels per pack so I ended up bringing back with me the extras and Heidi Fisher got them for her room in our apartment. Fun, red curtains!

I love, love make-up. my mom was a Mary Kay consultant and I dabbled with it for awhile. I love playing with colors too. and go figure, my eyeshadow and lip gloss or stick MUST match what I am wearing for the day. I just had to have purple shadow on my wedding day cause my dress had a purple blingy shash. proof is in the pictures you took.

You know you’re cute when you can fit into gap’s jeans! They never fit me well…except for their maternity pants! I love their kids clothes. I can hardly walk by without popping in the store.
I love GAP for height reasons, too. Only, the opposite end of the spectrum. I only buy my jeans there…they are long and stay long after many, many washes. And by many, many washes, I mean that I wear GAP jeans almost every day…except for church and days I have to do hospital visits…people like their ministers dressed up.

My tummy is growling now! So delicious!
Family traditions are so sweet; I especailly enjoys the smell that belong with family traditions! My twin younger sisters and I have a tradition that can take place at any time. When a box of chocolate is brought, we each take small bites out of all of them; this way it’s more fun and we’ve each got to try them all. When I was 20, for Christmas all i could afford to get them was a box of Godiva chocolate; we sat, under their glow in the dark stars and ate away. Now they want VANS…their taste is much different but when ever theres a box of chocolate, we eat it the same.

I think about your creativity in cooking, too – remember when we wanted to make dinner in Armenia and didn’t have very much to go from? You guys dipped orange slices in a chocolate sauce you made. Haha… we were desperate!

confession: i can’t afford much at anthropologie, but i do visit whenever possible to shamelessly pilfer their stunning & yet simple (& often repurposed/recycled!) decor inspiration. definitely a place to recharge the creativity!
I have always said, if there is only one store I could shop at for the rest of my life, it would be Anthropologie! I’m so in love with this store!!

I have walked in the door once… and when I realized I was holding about 27 door knobs and drawer handles in my arm, I knew I needed to leave quickly.
Is it just me or does their kitchen stuff just make you want to buy a cottage somewhere and sip hot tea and wear white lace slips?!
I have a few kitchen towels from there that i wont even use to dry my hands they are that pretty.

Oooooo sounds wonderful! There is a little “Parisian” store in downtown Savannah that makes me feel like how you describe! I end up with a tshirt for one daughter, some candies for a son, and some bath items for another daughter. That alone cleans me out…but they know to savor those items!

My girls love this store, I haven’t had pleasure of actually owning anything from there but I’m sure I could enjoy this little burden. Ha! I am so excited to get to serve this summer to veterans and tell them of the love freely given for them. they gave themselves for my freedom and Jesus gave himself for their freedom. how awesome.

oh I love it! I bought a dress there (on sale of course haha) and its the one thing in my closet that when I’m having a bad day or feeling frumpy, I put it on (no matter the weather or occasion) and it’s a brighter day from then on.
oooh la la! I “accidentally” bought a $20 candle here one time. Indeed it is a mesmerizing store…all bets are off when you walk past that threshold.

Music is a huge part of my family, it feeds the soul. My daughter just recently told us that she did not want toys for her birthday she would rather have an amp & an electric ukulele.
I heart music. all kinds of music. I think I came out of my birth mother’s womb singing. my mommy said I was singing in the crib too. I was a vocal major in college. music is therapy for all kinds of things. music is universal. music rocks! Ack! This 8 days thing is such a cool idea. Music and coffee are two of MY favorite things too!! However I pretty much always freak out when I get a gift card for music or books. I mean, the enormity of the decision is HEAVY. There are just so many choices, and I know that as soon as I pick 10 songs out of all songs EVER, I’ll realize I’ve forgotten the one I REALLY needed, or I’ll discover a new artist. Have you ever noticed that a chai latte is like Christmas in your mouth? All year round. Starbucks is also a great place for writing–maybe not for actually accomplishing a whole lot, but definitely good fodder for story.
