Twisting through pine tree lined country roads, passing pastures filled with cows grazing and sun flare blinding my eyes making it hard to see. The view before me was golden and green.
I click my heels together three times and say, “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home. I arrive at a place that feels like home and is filled with my people who share my name, my likes, memories past, present and future. My aunt, my uncle and my mom along with their dogs, gus and macey. I open the doors and chatter fills the air. ” I love you” and “don’t you look good!” and “I am so proud of you.” and “I am so glad that you are here!”
The smell of cake and coffee is the aroma that accompanies the kind chatter of those who love me, who know me and call me one of their own. I was honored with the special plate during dinner and got to hold my cousins daughter Meadow and chase his son Paxton. We gathered around the table sharing stories, laughing and visioning forward about all the possibilities that God had in store for our lives.
It was so good to be home.
